What a fabulous story, it just uplifts and renews faith!!
On the shores of Loch Earn, Scotland, villagers were enraged at a property developers plans to develop a site held as an ancient sacred site where kings were crowned and populated by fairies. Even plans that worked around a particular stone were scrapped.
The rock protruded from the centre of a gently shelving field, edged by the steep slopes of Dundurn mountain.
The council chairman said her main objection to moving the rock was based on the fact that it had stood on the hillside for so long: a sort of MacFeng Shui.
Quote: “The Planning Inspectorate has no specific guidelines on fairies but a spokesman said: “Planning guidance states that local customs and beliefs must be taken into account when a developer applies for planning permission.” Developer Mr Salter said: “We had to redesign the entire thing from scratch.”
