  Explosion on the Moon

A rare sight has been witnessed by NASA scientists, an explosion on the moon caused by a meteoroid.

Most likely part of a shower of ‘taurids’ , the meteorid created a blast equal to about 70kg of TNT and caused a estimated crater of 3m wide and 0.4m deep on the edge of Mare Imbrium (the Sea of Rains)
