I just wanted to let all my sisters & brothers to know August 27th there will be a Double Moon.
Planet Mars will be at its brightest in the night sky, starting August. It will look as large as the full moon to the naked eye. This will culminate on Aug 27th when Mars comes within 34.65 million miles of Earth.
Be sure to watch the sky on Aug. 27 12:30 am. The next time Mars may come this close is in 2287.

I think that is a fairly dependable resource for such matters....Did no one wonder why this story has not been on the worldwide news channels such as CNN etc. or at least on a local weather channel as a point of interest??? I did.... so I want to NASA.... here is the copy/paste.
Sorry tp be such a buzz kill but I think it is important that people who are interested in this kind of thing get accurate information...

Experts have said that the time when Mars made a historically close pass to Earth was in August 27, 2003. On August 27, 2006, the Red Planet would remain invisible, hidden behind the glare of the sun. To the naked eye it would look like a star and not as big and bright as the moon.
Researchers said while orbiting the Sun, Earth and Mars make a close approach every two and a quarter years or so. This time is called "opposition," because from Earth’s perspective, Mars appears opposite the Sun in the sky.
